I needed to be cajoled and convinced that it was necessary. That is the turning point of the film, where it triggers off an entire chain of events. It is, honestly, not just a ruse to get more publicity and mileage.

In fact, any movie, which has been sexual or overtly physical, has been backed by a good script. That is why they have done well at the box office -- Be it Julie or Murder!

I was nervous [about the kiss] and Emraan gave me a lot of grief! He teased me mercilessly because he had done this before in Murder. But he promised that it would not be sexual or intimate. It was not a full blown kiss.

In fact, Emraan gave me pointers as to how to about it. He told me, 'Just clench your teeth. I promise I will not enter your mouth.'

That helped me get into the post-reactions of the kiss -- feel angry and humiliated. But it wasn't easy. I would say hat's off to Mallika. She's one hell of a woman to be able to do it more than once in her films! It's not something I could have done!
