Thursday night's Hulchul premiere at Mumbai's Fame Adlabs theatres led to the getting together of a curious throng of people:
There were the families, well-fed, relaxed, and in the mood for some entertaining family fare from director Priyadarshan;
And the celebrity spotters, hanging around hours after shopping closed at the adjacent Citi Mall, just hoping to catch a glimpse of someone to gossip about;
With the wannabe spot-ees, strange folk dressed in atrocious dresses and seemingly of indeterminate gender, trying to catch attention based largely on overdone makeup;
Not to forget the seemingly endless parade of b-celebrities, forgotten faces and never remembered ones, vaguely familiar from the odd music video or commercial, trying desperately to be recognised.
And, then, of course, there were the stars.
