Was she was upset at Fida's box office failure? "I felt the film won't do well one week before its release, because they killed the heroine!" Kareena candidly shot back.

"The audiences were left wondering, 'What happened? The heroine is dead?!' Earlier, [the filmmakers] had planned to shoot two climaxes, but then that idea changed. They had planned to make Shahid, me and Fardeen live on in the film and turn good, but that didn't work out."

She further said, "Indian audiences have not grown so far. A film like Bhoot can only do well in multiplexes. I think the Indian audiences want to see happy endings in their films. Even when I go to see a film, I want to be happy and have fun."

"I guess because we are so stressed in life we want our films to be relaxing. But I'm happy with Fida because I can proudly say that I have tried a different genre on my résumé."
