March 14 saw the birthday of one of the most successful Khans in the Hindi film industry.

For Aamir Khan, his 39th birthday was no special from any other. He spent the day shooting for his film, The Rising.

Directed by Ketan Mehta, the shooting for the film started in January and is expected to be completed by May. Based on Mangal Pandey, the Indian sepoy who initiated the 1857 mutiny, the movie also stars Rani Mukerji, Amisha Patel and British actor Toby Stephens.

Aamir has also finally said yes to another film: Painted Yellow, to be directed by Rakesh Mehra. The Hindi version will be called Rang De Basanti and will costar Meenaxi actor Kunal Kapoor. The film, which will be produced by Mehra, Nilesh Dadich and Angad Paul (producer of Guy Ritchie's famous caper Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels), will start shooting in October.
