Controversial or not, Salman continues to be adored by his fans. And why not?

"See the promos of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Fida. I look three years younger than Shahid Kapoor (his co-star in Fida)," he quips.

"If the media had written something against me within limits, it was okay. When they wrote badly about me, my fans could not believe it. My fans also have an impression about me. I also meet people face to face. They [can] see what kind of person I am. They were completely taken aback when they saw my behaviour in person and what they read about me," the actor tells a press conference to promote his new film, Phir Milenge.

Directed by Salman's former co-star Revathy, the film also features Shilpa Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan.

"A judge listens to both parties, but the media never bothers to listen to my point of view. They always start cooking stories [about me]."

But when the media asks Salman to speak, we respond, he never really complies. "Whom shall I speak about? Myself? Why should I speak about myself? I cannot do that nor can my family. They cannot praise me. Those who should have spoken about me never did. People wrote articles about me because they earn money by writing bad headlines about me. They have to support a family and earn money. It’s okay. I never reacted to that also."
