Mel Gibson, a Traditionalist Catholic, told ABC News that he is no anti-Semite and that anti-Semitism is 'un-Christian,' and a sin that 'goes against the tenets of my faith.'

The project was conceived after long years of 'spiritual bankruptcy', alcohol and drugs, over a decade ago. Gibson thought of jumping off a window, he told ABC News.

That low gave rise to a re-examination of Christianity and ultimately, his 'vision' on the last few hours of the life of Jesus.
