Divya Khosla could not have asked for more. Her debut film, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, stars veterans like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol, and it is directed by Anil Sharma, who has such hits like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and The Hero to his credit.

The 21-year-old actress got engaged to Bhushan Kumar, son of the late Gulshan Kumar of T-Series, on December 12.

Divya spoke to Patcy N about her new film, which released on December 24.

My relatives and friends would often tell my parents that I must try modelling. Television commercials attracted me too. So I went to a production house and auditioned for a commercial for Reliance. I was selected.

In the Reliance ad, I was dressed as a bride. That was my first commercial and through that, I got my first movie. Anil Sharma saw the ad. In fact, after the ad went on air, many big names in the industry started calling me. I did not have a 'struggle' period.

Anilji auditioned and selected me. Once the film went on the floors, I joined Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting institute. Kishoreji is a brilliant teacher.
