I have not come into this industry to be thought as the next best thing to hit the planet. Nor do I want to be thought of as the best actress or most beautiful girl or the biggest snob. I've worked very hard and all I want is respect.

The best thing about films is that you get to live a hundred lifestyles in one. It is a lot of hard work but you get an opportunity to see the world, meet interesting people and do pretty much whatever you want. For instance, when you are doing a film, you may get the opportunity to sky dive and scuba dive. Both are very expensive and you get them on a platter! Of course, it would look hideous if you don't enjoy it because it would be on camera and you can't forget it for the rest of your life!

My [Miss Universe] title has never been a hindrance to me. The only thing is when you go for a big event, people expect a beautiful woman to walk through the doors but never expect her to be intelligent. That is disappointing. In the film industry, all that the title does is that you become a known name. It doesn't help you bag any films. The advantage is that you don't have to knock on a director's door 50 times and tell them who you are. They know you already. But once you are in the industry, you have to leave the title behind and start afresh.
