Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta will appear in her third film after Andaaz and Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost: Indra Kumar's Masti. The film has a long star cast including Ajay Devgan, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Ritesh Deshmukh, Amrita Rao, Tara Sharma and Genelia DeSouza. But Lara's character -- which was first offered to Bipasha Basu -- is the most secretive and kept strictly under wraps.

Lara gives rediff.com those elusive details.

My character is called Monica in Masti. The three boys -- Vivek, Aftab and Ritesh -- are married but very unhappy with their respective wives. They are on the lookout for extramarital affair. I meet Vivek's character first and am very intrigued by him. Vivek, on the other hand, finds Monica very smart, confident, sexy and, more important, very unlike his wife [played by Amrita Rao], who is extremely possessive.

So he starts wooing Monica. Initially, she doesn't realise that he is married. When she finds out, she takes a step back and tries to figure out why these boys are behaving the way they are. Besides, do they really want to do something about it or is it just talk? She tries to find out how far they are willing to go. That starts off a series of events.

Monica is like a catalyst who sparks events in the film. She brings out the humour in the other characters and the hilarious events. She does have her own comedy too. That's all I can say now.

There was a lot of energy and spontaneity on the sets. There were times when a joke would start early in the day and would last throughout the day. We had fun shooting. Indra Kumar never dictated how he wanted scenes to be done. He allowed creative license and let us pool in our ideas. So when you see the film, you'll see a bit of the real Vivek or the real Ajay.
