Assuring worried Americans that the United States will recover from its financial turmoil stronger than ever, President Barack Obama on Tuesday said the stimulus plan will create 3.5 million jobs, setting in motion a huge task of putting the crisis-hit economy back on track.
Outlining an ambitious agenda to revive the world's largest economy, Obama announced plans to cut tax and said three sectors -- energy, health care and education -- will be given top priority in this year's budget.
"Tonight, I want every American to know this: We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before," Obama said in his maiden State of the Union address to the joint session of the US Congress.
