How innovative management can change society

Dr Deshpande, the co-founder and chairman of Sycamore Networks Inc, serves as a member of the MIT Corporation, and his $ 20 million donation has created MIT's Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation.

In an extensive interview, Deshpande spoke on a wide spectrum of issues, including using modern management techniques to improve social entrepreneurship. He also said that Akshaya Patra, one of the social entrepreneurial programmes he is backing in India, could become one of the first global NGOs from India in a few years.
