"We have never faced such protests anywhere. We are leaving West Bengal because of the agitation. We have to maintain the timeline for the Nano rollout to make the project feasible," Tata added.
"It's a shame that we have had to take this step. It is an Indian project," Tata said.
"We cannot run a plant under police protection and when our workers are being assaulted or threatened," said Tata.
"Land was given to us on lease by the West Bengal government," he said. But he added, "I have faith in West Bengal chief minister and his leadership."
