'India is a land of billion opportunities'

May 02, 2008

"Along with the globalisation of the economy I think there is globalisation of aspirations and these aspirations are of people all over the world. Even as we speak today, 80 per cent of the world's income is with 20 per cent of the population. This imbalance has to be corrected," he said amid thunderous applause.

"No doubt it is the job of the government, but with corporate sector getting more and more power in the economy, I think it is also the business of the business leaders," Ambani said.

Ambani added that Reliance and other companies in India have recognised the need for business leaders to come forward to remove the imbalance.
