When you say positive, do you mean they are willing to set up shop in Kolkata?
Yes, they would come to Kolkata to see things first hand and talk to us. From Silicon Valley, I went to Phoenix and there we talked to some of Arizona's flight training schools for staring schools in West Bengal. They too were very positive. I have also talked to Motorola and they are all very positive about Kolkata.
IBM has 7,000 to 8,000 people working in West Bengal. They are growing in a big way.
So, the focus of the visit was not just IT.
It was mainly IT, but the only area outside of IT we explored was the flight training schools.
Of all things, what is the state's interest in a flight training school?
A lot of people come to the US to get flight training which is expensive. So, if they can get training in India, and it is a big market, it will be good. It will also be cheaper there and I am sure it will help generate an economy around the flight training schools.
Where would this school be located?
It has not been decided as yet. It can be anywhere in West Bengal, not necessarily in Kolkata. They would come and see the sites and then it would be decided.
