Porters strike hits Indo-Pak trade at Attari
July 15, 2008
Trade between India and Pakistan at the Wagah border remained suspended for the second day on Monday after porters struck work over a demand for better wages.
Goods-laden trucks were seen queued up at Attari as they could not be offloaded due to the strike. At least 1,400 porters are on strike since Sunday and traders are worried about its financial fallout.
