Dignitaries from all over the world and every walk of life had assembled at IIT-Madras for Pan-IIT 2008.
Among them were world chess champion Viswanathan Anand, Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, Stephen P Cohen, fellow of the Brooking Institution, and Kishore Mahbubani, former Singapore ambassador to the Unite Nations.
The Student Activity Centre at IIT-Madras was full to the brim much before Anand and his wife Aruna arrived.
Anand, who recently won the World Chess Championship at Bonn, was felicitated by Professor M S Ananth, director, IIT-Madras.
