The Oberois and the Tatas have been insured under the terrorism insurance cover.
They also have a business interruption insurance cover that protects the companies against business losses arising due to closure of the hotels due to unforeseen calamities and events.
The companies are confident that insurance would take care of the huge expenses involved in restoring the hotels.
However, the compensation for the damages may hit a hurdle. The hotels may not get the entire compensation amount, say insurance experts.
For instance if the damage is caused by the commandos or the police while trying to rescue the guests, or flush out the militants, the insurer is not liable to pay the damages.
