Food prices make inflation control difficult: PM
April 11, 2008
Speaking at a global agro industries forum in New Delhi on April 10, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on April 10 that a steep rise in food prices will make inflation control more difficult.
India's widely watched inflation rate hit a 3-year high of 7.0 percent in late March, with higher food prices being a key driver.
He also said that rising food prices have the potential to derail economic reforms.
