Legal immigrants, aren't happy. About 1,000 of them, highly skilled, rallied at the Capitol on Tuesday carrying placards and wearing T-shirts depicting American flags, said a report in the The New York Times.
The immigrants included doctors, medical technicians and computer engineers from India and China. Though the rally's numbers were not huge, it was quite an unusual step by the immigrants, said officials.
The immigrants travelled all the way from California to call on Congress. Their demand was to provide more permanent visas for highly educated immigrants and more resources for the overburdened immigration system.
