In Mumbai, size does matter
HyperCITY, the new kid on Mumbai's shopping block, is different. And you can sense it long before CEO Andrew Livermore explains why.
The sprawling two-storied superstore has recently come up in the city's fast changing suburb of Malad, separated by a wall from another popular shopping destination, the Inorbit Mall. Spread over 100,000 square feet, it is owned by real estate major K Raheja. As you take a stroll inside, somewhat baffled by the variety on offer, you begin tutoring yourself on how not to overspend.
Although it was inaugurated in the first week of May, Livermore is already overwhelmed by the response. "We expected 3,500 footfalls a day, but, by the second week, the figure stood at 12,500," he tells rediff.com
