athuria said that PlanetSpace is also in discussions with the American NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) to sign an agreement to build a cargo and crew vehicle for the International Space Station.
PlanetSpace will relocate to Nova Scotia in September from London, Ontario. The company has chosen to use ethyl alcohol fuel for its rockets because it is environmentally friendly.
The flight will go up to 70 miles high and travellers can take their space suits home as a souvenir. PlanetSpace expects to fly almost 2,000 new astronauts in the first five years of flying and generate revenue of $200 million in the fifth year, Kathuriua and Sheerin said.
The vehicle, which can carry five passengers and six crew members, travels at four times the speed of sound. Space Shuttle goes up at 20 times the speed of sound.
When the vehicle goes 62 miles above sea level, the passengers can experience weightlessness and view a curving earth below, a black sky above.
