Richard Branson plans to invest about $50 million in his personal capacity in an Indian airline for which he was in talks with 'four different people' in the country.
Branson has also evinced interest in investing in healthcare, telecom and music.
"Virgin Atlantic (Airways) is not allowed to invest in India, but Richard Branson, I think, should be allowed to invest in India in his personal capacity," Branson said.
Under the existing Indian aviation rules, no foreign airline is allowed to pick up stake in any Indian carrier.
Never one to be flustered, Branson strikes a pose at the crease at the Oval Maidan in Mumbai on Friday. The British tycoon engaged in a short cricket match organised by the Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy.
