How to make your marriage work
September 25, 2008

Has this happened to you? One morning you got up and realized that marriage is not really the fairy tale you thought it would be...

Oscar Wilde said: The world has grown suspicious of anything that looks like a happily married life.

If you nodded vigorously at the above statement you may be trying hard to make your marriage work. And you know what -- everyone's doing it. Changing man-woman dynamics make it difficult to have a 'they-lived-happily-ever-after' scenario.

Making a marriage work can be difficult, frustrating, and very challenging. But more and more couples are realising that they need to give special attention to make their marriages work.

Everyone employs different techniques -- right from analysing the problem themselves to getting professional help.

Dr Kamal Khurana, a Delhi-based marriage and relationship therapist says, "I have observed a three time increase in couples seeking help in the last two years."

However, most couples will use therapy or counselling as a last resort. The first step, experts say, is to identify that there is a problem.
