The Black Lily by Agnitmitra Paul

Designer Agnimitra Paul chose a sentimental, noble theme for her collection, showcased on Day Four of the LFW. Inspired by the blind, The Black Lily is, in her own words, "a tribute to those who see the world as it feels".

The showing opened with black and white garments and gradually moved to colour; it was intended to symbolise the colourful state of mind of the visially impaired, as opposed to those who can see.

Braille script embellished several outfits and the signature lily pattern seen on others contained Braille alphabets and numbers. See for yourself.

Monikangana Dutta kicked off the show in this lovely strappy number, with floral texturing and silvery detail on the bodice. The back of the dress however, was all-black and bore Agnimitra's signature lily pattern.
