The most important factor is to book the venue as early as possible. The more in advance you book, the better deal you get. Rates can vary during the wedding season depending on the day you choose.
If it is convenient, select a weekday over a weekend to get a better deal. The location of the wedding is an important factor in saving costs. Having the venue near your residence will save you on travel time and money. Secondly, there are loads of community halls available at Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,000 per day, which is a good option.
As Nitin suggests, "You can also get municipal school halls which are available at reasonable rates as well." Nowadays most new buildings have club houses and small halls within the society itself. For small weddings or functions one can even think of these as an ideal venue for a wedding or reception.
