My first trek up Nagalapuram Hills

October 10, 2008

City dweller Ramakrishnan Thiagarajan had a wonderful time on his first excursion with the Chennai Trekkers' Club to the Nagalapuram Hills. Here is his story:

My Saturdays go something like this: wake up at noon, get hooked to the Internet, catch a movie at a nearby theatre, go pub-hopping and get home late at night, turning in for what's left of it and cursing myself for wasting one half of my weekend yet again.

A twist has come into my usual Saturday story of late, however, thanks to my pal Baidik, who introduced me to the Chennai Trekkers Club. I registered with them and booked myself into the very next excursion they were taking -- a trek through the Nagalapuram Hills. I'd never heard of these hills before, but I was looking forward to a good time regardless.
