Dressing up for Durga Puja

October 3, 2008
The countdown to Durga Puja has begun. The spirit of revelry is all around as Kolkata is almost ready for those four days of unalloyed fun and fiesta. The greatest USP of Durga Puja in Kolkata is the fact that it is a carnival for anybody and everybody to join and enjoy.

Half the fun of Puja lies in the pre-Puja shopping. Indeed, one has to be seen in the right clothes, colours, accessories, and, of course, at the right places. For the young brigade, for those few days (from Maha Saptami to Bijoya Dashami), the city itself becomes a ramp -- specially the Puja pandals and community halls -- to flaunt the latest in fashion.
