Designer Sonam Dubal showcased his collection 'Trailing the River Goddess' on Day Two of Fashion Week. Sonam's inspiration was the life-giving qualities of rivers -- specifically the Mekong, flowing through Tibet, Egypt's Nile and our very own Brahmaputra, all of which have seen civilisations rise and fall on their banks for centuries. In keeping with the theme, shades of blue and purple signified water, burgundy green and red represented the fertility of the earth and gold, yellow and orange human life itself. Here's a glimpse of the collection.
The showing started with a brief audio-visual presentation of rivers, the source of life and civilisation -- the message 'A tribute to the river of peace...for Tibet' was flashed across the giant projectors on either side of the ramp.
The first outfits then came out onto the catwalk -- seen here is a silky blue printed dress with a 'V'-shaped hemline.
