The allure of the Andamans

It was the end of April and the wife asked, "Can we go to some place cooler for a week in May? Let's beat the Chennai heat."

We searched on the Internet and shortlisted 10 places we wanted to visit. I tried to book train tickets, but couldn't get confirmed seats. So I looked for flight options.

Airfare for Rs 599 and less!

We thought that if we are going to spend on flight tickets, we might as well go to some place exotic.

The Andamans sounded like an exciting option (Sometimes banner ads can take you places you never even think about) and that is what I got -- return tickets for my wife, our two children and myself on Air Deccan from Chennai to Port Blair for May 11.
