East-meets-West

July 3, 2008
Models in bandh-gala kurtas worn over dhotis in richly coloured fabrics and paired with dupattas stalked the ramp.

There were jodhpurs and slender-fit suits, neutral hued ensembles in exotic fabrics of shantung and suede set off by a flash of royal pink or deep purple that all went in to create a dramatic, lavish line.

But a summer line isn't all the Indian influence Armani will sport this year. The fashion house plans to launch it's 320,000-square-foot Emporio mall in South Delhi in July-August, that will house a host of Indian designer stores apart from international brands like Vuitton, Dior and Fendi.
