Indian oomph hits the New York ramp

July 3, 2008
Designer Abdul Halder showcased a collection he put together for a worthy cause in New York on Wednesday -- he collaborated with the United Nations to participate in the Mission Sanitation Fashion Fiesta '08.

The Mission Sanitation Fashion Fiesta marks the International Year of Sanitation '08 and is promoted by the UN NGO IRENE Network and Sulabh International.

Abdul was there to take a stand for the upliftment of India's scavenger women and his collection was put together by women of the Sulabh Nai Disha Centre, Alwar, Rajasthan. Take a look.

Model Jesse Randhawa shows off a lovely drop-waist bridal ensemble with bronze detailing.
