Hiking to a quaint temple in Jammu

The picturesque state of Jammu and Kashmir has been attracting tourists for centuries. Although Kashmir is the main attraction, the Jammu region too abounds in many beautiful spots. Especially for nature lovers. Most of these places are less traversed and hence still retain their old charm.

Airfare for Rs 599 and less!

One such charming place is Shankpal peak, near Sanasar, located at an altitude of 2800 metres. A trek up to the peak offers panoramic views of the Pir Panjal range. On a clear day, the old road on the Pir Panjal is clearly visible.

It is difficult to take ones eyes off from the shining snow-clad peaks of Kishtwar Himalayas. Towards the west one can also see the Gool-Gulabgarh and the adjoining Rajouri area.

One can also feel the faint presence of Jammu city in the south.
