Planning a pilgrimage to Amarnath?
February 21, 2008
Following heavy snowfall in the region, locals in Jammu and Kashmir are expecting the formation of a sizeable ice stalagmite or the Lingam of Lord Shiva in the Amarnath Cave.
They are also hopeful of a heavy rush of devotees during the annual Amarnath pilgrimage this summer which would in turn benefit the region's economy. The locals hope the ice lingam in the majestic holy cave will last till September when the pilgrimage concludes.
