Ten tips to shape up your derriere!

Time to sit up and listen, people -- a shapely torso with stick thin legs is now definitely passe. If you have been working on your upper body and ignoring the lower body, it's time to change strategy so you can fill up those jeans right! A well-rounded, shapely butt is not just an asset cosmetically, but gives your lower back better, stronger support.

Here are a few tips and some exercises that can be performed freestyle to get a fabulously shaped behind.

Are you an apple or a pear?

People's body types can be narrowed down to either apples or pears. The 'apples' gain weight more easily on the upper body and have comparatively thinner legs. These are the ones who usually suffer from flat butt syndrome and need to work hard on the lower body to get a proportionate body shape.

Pears usually gain weight very quickly on the lower body (legs, buttocks, hips) and unfortunately, the adage 'once on the lips, forever on the hips' applies to them. In other words, whatever is consumed shows below the waist! So watch what you eat and train your lower body to keep it in proportion and in good shape.
