Most avid foodies in Mumbai know about Pot Pourri at Bandra. It's not considered the most happening joint but it has real loyal patronage. If you went there as young students, it's likely you're still going there to catch up with your old pals. Such is its attraction and old world charm.
Pot Pourri has started a new restaurant in the In Orbit mall in Malad, a suburb in north Mumbai.
As opposed to the cosy and rustic feel of the Bandra joint, this is very modern and spacious, with high ceiling. The earthy wooden furniture provides warmth while the splash of reds and beige paint on the walls adds vibrancy to the place.
One wall is glass and the other is covered with random photographs. Some photographs have funny messages while others are more philosophical. To name one there is this lovely photograph of a girl in tight jeans, and it says 'Nice' on her behind!
This setting is very reminiscent of an American Diner sans the dinning booths, making an ideal setting for a casual lunch or a laid back dinner.
