The Narendra Kumar show was an event to remember -- for a number of reasons.
The first: the auditorium was shrouded in darkness and the lights came on to reveal a shehnai player at the head of the stage. The tune was then carried through with a 6-member brass band that belted out traditional wedding music -- a novel idea that set the mood for a show created to highlight the pervasive influence of marriage and the idea of 'settling down'.
The second: beautifully executed creations in menswear, both formal and casual. After five days that went heavy on the womenswear, this was a refreshing change.
