Manish Malhotra closes Lakme Fashion Week
next
Celebrated designer Manish Malhotra brought Lakme Fashion Week to a truly spectacular close today. Three giant video screens and music spun live by celebrity DJ Pearl were added attractions besides the collection; the auditorium was packed to the rafters with celebs, wannabe celebs, journos and everyone in between.

In celebration of his theme, 'La Belle Epoche', Manish's line transitioned fluidly through vintage fashion to contemporary chic and ranged from over-the-top and fabulous to minimalist and gorgeous. His inspiration was the Art Nouveau era and the French touches of the time were fairly obvious.

The show began with model Jesse Randhawa in an ethereal white full-length sheer gown with broad satin stripes on the sleeves and skirt. As she made her way down the ramp, the gown was peeled off to reveal a sexy little one-piece with hooded top and mesh shorts (inset).

The dramatic opening number was the perfect representation of things to come.
