Snapshots: Uttarakhand
"Nainital (tal means lake) got its name from the Naini lake set in a mountain hollow," Dilip wrote.

"The other lakes here are Bhimtal, Naukuchiyatal and Saattal.

"The zoo here is very clean and well maintained. Boating was a fun experience. Almost all hotels here have a lake view. This picture is from Hotel Prince, where we stayed."

The nearest railway station is Kathgodam, 35 km away.

Nainital is 306 km north-east of New Delhi and 62 km from the Corbett National Park.
