Mix of the old and the new
Escaping from the scorching heat is all we desire during summer. But since work took me to Chennai, I decided to spend an extra day to visit the tourist spots within the city limits. I had anticipated the city to be hot only to find during mid-April, the climate in Chennai was better than in Kerala!
Half-day sight seeing seems to be more popular with tourists arriving in Chennai. The crowd was less in the tourist locales. I could spot several British Raj monuments, many of them functioning as government houses while touring Chennai.
Airfare for Rs 100 and less!

~Fix the amount before hiring an auto or taxi.
~Taxis normally charge around Rs 350 to Rs 400 from Central Railway Station to the airport.
