Feminine elegance is back

Designer Vineet Bahl's spring-summer collection
at the previous Fashion Week featured funky accessories and cool, casual wear, from his label IndjaPink, which he launched in 2003.

Bahl's signature style is a little boho and understated. But his autumn-winter collection 2007, tilted 'A Walk Through Fall', had a more ornate look and feel; he used velvet, silk matka, chiffon, georgette and suede, but with minimum embellishment.

His collection also reflected the feminine elegance of women's fashion in the 1960s. We saw colours like ivory, dusty pink, cafe latte beige, mustard olive, teal grey and royal purple, and lots of dresses. The dresses, however, were teamed with sturdy high-heeled leather boots.

Bahl earlier interned with designer Tarun Tahiliani where he headed the women's Western wear section. His clothes retail in Ogaan in Delhi and Ensemble and Bombay Electric in Mumbai.
