Trailing the monsoon

July 31, 2007
Gimme a break!

How many times, have you heard a voice in your head asking you that?

And have you ignored it for lack of time and attention?

Well, that voice was back in my head the other day. It was particularly noisy too.

It reverberated in my preoccupied mind like a thousand gongs in a Buddhist monastery though my mind was already whirring with thoughts about meeting deadlines, reaching targets, presentations to clients... the boring list is endless.

Airfare for Rs 100 and less!

Even the thought of a break was invigorating for me at that moment.

My advice: when a page out of your daily life starts looking incredibly boring it's a warning signal. It is time to sweep aside the files from your desk, look beyond your Calving & Hobbes screen saver at your work station and pick up the phone and book a trek.

After my dear hubby also willingly gave in, we knew our break was indeed becoming a reality (with just two of us voting can't get easier).

Getting time off for a long holiday was not happening. So the only break possible was on a weekend and we decided to contact Odati Adventures.

Here was our chance to get away from the maddening crowds, nine to nine routines, traffic snarls, asphyxiating pollution and head for a green spot!
