Apples in God's own country!

July 20, 2007
We were eager to experience Munnar in the rains.

A delay in the arrival of the rains came as a blessing. We enjoyed the start of the monsoon in Munnar but missed having our fun spoilt by those road blocks.

It was a five hour drive to Kochi from Munnar. We stopped along the way to view some waterfalls. Cheeyapara and Valara waterfalls between Kothamangalam and Munnar are a must see. There were several other tiny falls too. Keep your eyes open because if you plan to visit Munnar in the monsoon there will be a lot many more waterfalls to see as the monsoon season reaches its peak.

Many had told us before setting out for Munnar that this place was not an ideal monsoon destination. But Munnar looked like a wonderful green garden when we reached.
