What do television celebrities eat?

January 3, 2007

Actresses -- whether they are from the big screen or small -- have this fantastic ability to lose or gain weight whenever they want to. Depending on what the role demands of them, they can (almost!) instantly change their looks and figure.

Needless to say, their diet plays a major role in this tranformation. Get Ahead asked six popular television actresses to share the secret behind their well-maintained figures.

Rajshree Thakur (Saloni in Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar)

Dusky beauty Rajshree says she has more than one reason to stay in shape -- in reel life, she plays Saloni; in real life, she is getting married in February.

"Thankfully, I don't have a tendency to gain weight. At the same time, I can't take things for granted and splurge. Ever since I have shifted to Mumbai, I have never been to McDonald's (which she used to enjoy going to). I avoid burgers, chips and fries."

As compensation, Rajashri gorges on chicken. "I like chicken in all forms, but my favourite is any dish cooked in Maharastrian style."

She brings her own lunch from home and tries to avoid the food served on the sets. "It is too oily and spicy. I eat on the sets only when I am not able to get food from home."

Though Rajshree doesn't follow a strict diet, she does make it a point to eat a lot of fruit. "I love watermelon -- it has a high water content and keeps you on the move. And, of course, mangoes, when they are in season!"
