Ooty calling
The road was fairly broad; vehicles could pass each other with ease. There were good signs that made the journey a breeze. The hairpin bends were announced as well.

Coonoor was the first stop on the way up.

Although crowded, it was beautiful. Early morning, school-going children filled the streets. Everyone was either wearing a sweater or a blazer. Some women were even draped in huge shawls.

Even in the month of August it was very chilly. The boys in blazers looked very smart, while the girls looked cheerful in red sweaters.
