he woman of today –- a multi-tasking career woman -– has very little time for herself. But she still wants to look good.
Keeping that in mind, we had a chat with makeup artist Clint Fernandes, the official makeup expert at the fashion week.
Fernandes offers makeup tips for working women to look beautiful in five minutes.
Foundation and compact
~For work use a light shade of foundation.
~If you have oily skin use an oil-free foundation. If you have a dry skin, use a cream-based foundation and there are foundations available for normal skin too.
~You could use foundation a shade lighter than your skin colour or go with a peachy or pink foundation if you want a youthful look.
~Put the foundation in dots all over the face and rub it evenly on the face. Use your fingers to rub the foundation from the nose area upwards to the ears, and then apply over the forehead, nose, upper lips and chin.
~Use a compact powder to even out the skin tone. Don’t dab too much powder the skin tends to get rough.
~You could use a Shiseido foundation.
Blusher
~For work, add just a light touch of the blusher to give a glowing look to your face without being pink all over.
~Use a slight touch of blusher to add colour and radiance to your cheek and face.
~Use upward strokes. Apply the blusher to the apples of the cheeks, blending it well towards the temples.
Mascara and eye shadow
~Mascara is very essential to define your eyelashes.
~It can be coupled by using a kohl pencil to define your eyes, says Fernandes. At work, don’t smudge it though.
~Use a cream based eye shadow to complete the elegant look.
For a glowing skin
~Don’t rely on glowing skin creams or bronzing powders for your hands, as they tend to leave a thin stain on the clothes.
~After a shower, massage your body with a good moisturizer. The skin will get a good texture.
~For oily skin, use an oil-free moisturizer. For dry skin, use an oil-based one.
For those luscious lips
~At work, don’t use red or bold colours unless you want to make some kind of statement.
~Use lip-gloss to accentuate your lips. Give them some colour. But don’t make it look gaudy.
