t's true. They eat a lot more. At Fashion Week, for instance, chips, brownies and colas are doing more rounds in the make-up room than mineral water.
We spotted Carol Gracias, Ujjwala Raut and a host of other models going through a whole lot of chips. When one model lit up a cigarette, Raut had to remind her that it was a no-smoking zone. She pointed out that it was harmful to her as she was breastfeeding. The model continued to smoke anyway.
Post the Gen-Next show, when the models were back to get ready for the Sabyasachi show, they kept praising the collections of the young guns. One said she particularly liked Rahul's ensembles, while another was all praise for Swapnil. It seems the young designers already have a fan following.
Following the beachwear show at The Hilton, which is 7 to 10 minutes from the NCPA, we caught up with Carol again, trying to catch her breath. She was walking so fast from the hotel to the NCPA changing room that we had to run to keep pace. "I am doing five shows today. Can you imagine how hectic it is? After yesterday's fiasco, I am exhausted. I have an early morning flight to Delhi tomorrow," she said, breathlessly.
Irrespective of whether it's a show, party or any other event, washrooms are the best place for some gossip. We spotted Lakme Face of the Year Shivani Kapur and another model changing in the loo. Maybe the changing rooms were too full. Kapur kept lamenting how tiring it was, adding that she needed a good massage.
Any masseurs around?
