When a model has a wardrobe malfunction...

Merril Diniz

Wardrobe mishaps are always a bone of contention.

Pop singer Janet Jackson's much publicised clothing malfunction during a show two years ago shocked America.

Some even speculated it was done on purpose. The subject continued to be a hot topic of discussion with the print media, talks shows and more, for a long time.

On the catwalk, a wardrobe malfunction is practically a hazard of the profession.

How do models cope when a skirt slips a few notches (or completely) or a top suspended by a wee string comes off?

Here's what model Carol Gracias did.

At the Bennu Sehgall show at Fashion Week this afternoon, Gracias' ensemble took a beating and we got a bit of a peek-a-boo.

What we are writing about, though, is not the show of skin but the way she bounced back.

Not a muscle on her face twitched.

She held the clothing back in place, and continued to catwalk with poise and confidence, even striking a pose on the way back.

We saw her out on the ramp once again, looking cool as a cucumber, and making eye contact with the main television camera as usual.

Needless to say, she got a thunderous applause from the audience.
