Long gowns sweep the ramp

The Phantom Of The Opera is here

Inside my mind

These are the lyrics from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Phantom Of The Opera.

They were sung by the protagonist, a beautiful innocent opera singer named Christine, who is haunted by a faceless phantom, a musical genius who mentors her yet she has never laid eyes on him. (check http://www.thephantomoftheopera.com)

This timeless musical was the inspiration for young designers Gauri and Nainika's collection, which had models sashaying in dramatic gowns with slicked back hair to a rock version of the musical's sound track. Here we see an eye-catching red ensemble. The skirt has lots of body and a long sweeping trail.

Can you wear this? Maybe to the Oscars. The gowns were well cut and well fitted. Some of the gowns were actually separate bodices and skirts, cleverly integrated to pass off as a single piece.

There were no accessories and the emphasis was completely on the clothes.
