Savio Jon keeps it simple

The designer decided to keep it simple, yet elegant. The shapes were easy and comfortable; the fabric, flowing and bouncing; the show, refreshing.

The shift was the focal point and the bubble-skirt, a near constant. Crepe, georgette and velvet were moulded in muted tones of khaki, tobacco, olive, petrol blue, brown and a dash of red.

There were crocheted and tube dresses. Also olive green prints, velvet dresses with shifts and frayed edges, and some multi-coloured abstract designs that looked very wearable. And yes, layered smocks and pinafores that were breathtaking.

In Jon's words, the collection was inspired by a cocoon, as layered garments softly and effortlessly blended into each other.

Can you wear this? The entire collection was quite wearable. It had a soothing effect on eyes tired of an overdose of embellishment.
