Deepavali. The festival of lights, happiness and celebration.

A festival that dispels darkness and welcomes joy.

Eid-ul-Fitr. The festival of 'breaking the fast'.

The fast of Ramadan is broken with special prayers and festivities.

The day of Eid brings much rejoicing, celebration and feasting.

This year, after 30 years, two of India’s biggest festivals fall in the same week! Eid (November 15) comes just after Deepavali (November 12).

Get Ahead spoke to two celebrity couples who have had inter-religious marriages.

Their love has crossed barriers of religion, societal pressures and cultures. They celebrate Deepavali and Eid with equal fervour.

They are truly symbols of a cosmopolitan India.

In their homes, it is time for a double celebration!

Over to Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan and Niharika and Ayub Khan!
